Rare opportunity to see these 2 gems side by side.
This one didn't post the first time. Interesting to see the keel vs pocket. Both have their pros and cons. I'm lucky enough to be friends with another Shamrock enthusiast who loves to compare notes on these two rigs. Chime in Joel!
The 270 has the wider beam, correct? Were any 26 ft hulls built with the tunnel drive? Would be interesting to ride in 2 similarly powered 26's, one with and 1 without the tunnel drives to really compare the handling and ride.
The 270 is bigger all around. No 26 tunnels.
If I do decide to hold onto my Mack when I move to WA (summer 2023), we'll add to the photoshoot.
Part of me thinks no boat and part of me thinks bigger boat I can actually spend a long weekend or so on. Part of me says it's paid for and if it's not in the water, it's not costing me anything (since I'll have property and it will even fit in the shop).
Don't sell it, give yourself a year in the new place with it before deciding none or bigger. Like you said, it's not costing you to store it.
Didn’t you have a Rhodan on the 26?
It's on the 270. I just took it off minute's before the Pic.
BTW, they do look good there together.
Does anyone know the reason for the two different style rudders? What advantage would (basically) cutting the upper back corner of the rudder off? Is that what is supposed to be used on the pocket style setup? I have the same rudder as the 26.
Looks like the pocket drive on the 270 would require the shoulder in the top corner to be removed for the steering to go full lock inside the pocket.
