I have 2000 246 with a carburetor and would like to change it to fuel injection. My oil pan is good and I just replaced raw water pump. Question: what did you swap out the original engine with?

Replaced the engine with a brand new 5.7 MPI, complete fresh water cooled motor from Michigan Motorz. Best thing I ever did. Much more power than my original 5.7 and I gained 2 knots in operating range. Perfect replacement and has run flawlessly for 30 hours so far this year. I did need to get reduction 45 degree elbows to go from 4” to 3.5”. That was part of the deal. The fresh water cooled risers were only available in 4”.
