Recently purchased a 1994 22’ Warrior, repowered with 5.7 crusader. It is not equipped with an engine oil cooler. How critical is having an oil cooler?

The oil cooler cools the transmission oil. Check to see if the heat exchanger has oil lines to the transmission.

Thanks, yes, it has a transmission cooler but no engine oil cooler. Just curious if it will survive without an engine oil cooler

No oil cooler on my 350 Crusader or my twin 305 Mercruisers in my Carver.Usually on big block Crusaders though.

    Thanks Ship and Throwback!
I feel better knowing it’s not mandatory. Had enough problems correcting the shotty workmanship from the guy I got it from. Otherwise, love my Shamrock
