I believe all pieces are now in hand. Ive read elsewhere that the MFG used plastic exhaust tips as the transom is not flat back there. I believe that is the correct after inspecting. I am going to make a template of my new 4” tip and remove the gelcoat and make a flat bedding For the SS tip.
New tip is installed. I opened the hole up to 4”. It was apparent that the hole was not flat. Used a tube of west 610 and bedded a new pad for the tip. Then pulled it back apart and hit some sealant in between. Sea trials later today!
Bronze thru hulls come in angles. Stainless ones do too but are harder to find. I have Rex with flappers and they have held up nicely.
Got it all together, took a pic of the new exhaust. Worked well. Ran it about 2 hours and pulled up a few groupers close in, no keepers. Oh well. I swear its quieter now. I don’t know if its the silicon or extra water.
