Ah yes, the old "winterizing trick" . YEARS ago, when we left a big boat in the water over the winter, we'd wait till the water froze & poured a gallon of oil around the boat. No damage to the boat till spring. I guess we all know better now.

Damn never heard that one. I just got done changing my oil and pumped her full of antifreeze. Deck was frozen solid when I finished.... it’s dropping

Dropping down here tonight too! Going all the way down to 59. Luckily it'll be back up to 75 by tomorrow at noon. Might have to go fishing tomorrow instead of winterizing her.

Since you have had a couple of Shamrocks & fish boats, is there anything in the baitwell system I have to winterize? Never had a boat with one. Rest I can deal with OK.

Pull the intake hose off of the sea cock and stick it in a jug of antifreeze. Open all valves and turn the pump on. See pink come out the outlets and you are good to go

just got done. She's in the driveway full of antifreeze. Had an electric oil filled radiator in the cabin last night. Also taped the vents closed on the engine box and coved with a blanket.

Depending on concentration. as was stated in another thread. concentrations vary from one area to another. Bay versus ocean in some cases.
OOOPS on your last Ship, you are right about salt concentration. Whew, fresh water will freeze in a hurry.
