Foam Flotation

    Calvin, the boat looks great!

    How much saturated foam would you say you pulled out of the cuddy area? What about the sides of the engine compartment?

    Hi Jersey Drape,

    Sorry for the delayed reply - I didn't see the notification in my email.

    I would say I pulled 15 to 20 cubic feet of water-logged foam out of the front compartment. It's hard to say precisely, but I know that the ~6 cubic feet of 2-part flotation foam that I added filled less than half of the cavity. I've opted not to fill it up completely, at least until I figure out where the water is getting in from.

    I think that four gallons (two 2-gallon kits) of the 2-lb density foam from Total Boat would get it mostly filled.
