600 cfm should feed 400 ci and 400 hp.
Upon further inspection it turns out my cupped 16x17 from 1989 has been reworked to a cupped 16x18
I cant see clearly, but it looks like they took it from a 18 to 17.
If I had it I could actually measure the degree, or failing that use a "jewlers loop" to look carefully and determine if the 8 was stamped on top of the 7 or visa versa.
You can do that..
Are you in Florida I’ll ship it to you.
Hard to say which # came first.
16 x 17 I believe was factory. More common to take pitch out with factory power.
I’m wondering if pitch was added when the stroker motor was put in. I borrowed a factory cupped 16x18 Michigan wheel prop from a friend that I’m going to try out. The cupping on that prop is definitely less then the one I took off.
It would make sense to add pitch with the hot rod motor.
The cup supposedly helps lift the stern.
I am running a punched out 350 SBC. About 300 HP. I am spinning a cupped 16x17 three blade on a 1.52:1 velvet drive. Perfect set up for my 26 cuddy.
I’m going to try out this other 16x18 and see how it goes. General propeller is localish so I might send one to them to be modified.
Well I picked up 300 rpm but lost 1 mph. I think I’ll have the other prop cut down 1/2” and see where that gets me.
