    Hi Ship. I am doing a rebuild from a marine 351 long block and see in your profile you have GT40 heads. 2 out of 3 suppliers offer the GT40 heads as an option. Have you found that the GT40 heads make a big difference in performance? The engine suppliers with the GT40 heads also note they require 92 Octane. Have you found that to be true? Thanks Ship

    I did a complete rebuild on a tired engine so I discounted any improvement as more displacement. I have been running regular gas and haven't noticed any pinging. That said my hearing isn't a good gage.
    Jerry has a bone yard he is cleaning out but again most are older boats. Check them out.
    They are for older boats. Not sure if the one you are looking for is among them

    Jack, I am not very good past carbs. You will be well advised to go to the classic site and ask Tuner. He is up on the newer engines.
