Last weekend, Laurence Warden jumped on the Longfin so that we could fish the annual halibut classic, my favorite tournament! Had a great time and even caught a few fish. Not the largest by any stretch, but enough to put us into the money as fourth place.

Here's a great shot of the Longfin

Here's a great shot of Salito (IBFishing)

Weather was a bit on the snotty side, but we made it a great day! Thanks for coming along Laurence, hoping we can fish some more tournaments together!

No, a couple of photographers are on top of a bridge. They shoot some nice picks of all the boats waiting for the start.

Bushman, our halibut are nothing compared to what you folks have. But, they are fun to hunt none the less. You’d be welcome, anytime!

This was a lot of fun. Many thanks to Jeff for inviting me along. The credit for the fish goes to Jeff since he put us in the right area and had all the bounce balling gear and process dialed in. I just reeled it up. I learned a lot and a great time. Can't wait to do it next year!
Also good to see Jim (ibfishing) and meet his crew.

BTW, the winners of 1st and 2nd were in a different league at 30+#.
We'll get one of those next time...

Funny story: Jeff gaffed the fish perfectly and pinned it down in the fish hold using the gaff while I got the hook out. He told me it's not uncommon for them to bounce out of the boat. Sure enough that fish blew the hatch off and went crazy 10 minutes after being put in the rear hold. Luckily I was back there to put my foot on the hatch to keep it down or it might have gone back in! Guess he didn't like our company....
