A few days early but I’ll take it. Fish are finally pushing south along island beach state park just north of barnegat inlet. Boated a nice 53 pounder along with 2 over 40 and 2 in the mid 30’s. 017D7AD1-43A6-4935-BBE1-38C336BA4C65.jpeg

Nice fish! And happy birthday! I know that area well - I grew up on the Jersey shore where I got my start in boating and fishing, a long time ago.

They tasted way better than good after my friends who own a Chinese restaurant got done with them.

Looks like New York will follow with a slot limit next year as well with possible mandatory circle hooks when bait fishing. I am all for it. Take a picture and let the breeders live. The larger the fish the better the genes. Let them spawn year after year. The smaller fish are sweeter anyway.

    regards Holty
